For years the battery race in India was stuck at 5,000mAh. Then 6,000 became normal, then 7,000. Now two brands have jumped straight to 10,000mAh in the same price zone, and buyers suddenly have a genuine fight to watch.
Poco launched the X8 Power on September 4. Realme has sold the P4 Power since January. Same headline number on the box. Different phones underneath.
Where they match
Both give you a 10,000mAh battery, a large 144Hz display, and a midrange MediaTek chipset. Both are aimed at the exact same buyer, someone who wants the phone to outlast the day by a wide margin without spending flagship money.
Where the fight gets decided
- Price and offers. Realme has had months to settle its street price and regularly appears with bank cashback and exchange offers. Poco launch pricing is usually aggressive in the first weeks. Whoever is cheaper on the day you buy probably wins for you.
- Software feel. Poco and Realme both ship heavy Android skins. Neither is clean like Motorola, so this one is a tie in our book.
- Availability. A launch week phone can slip into a waiting game with flash sales. The P4 Power you can walk into a shop and buy today.
- Trust. The P4 Power has eight months of real user feedback in the market. The X8 Power is new, which cuts both ways.
Our verdict for now
If you need a phone this week, the Realme P4 Power is the safe pick, and we wrote about why it holds up. If you can wait three or four weeks, let the first Poco X8 Power reviews and the first price drops arrive, then decide. Battery phones are long term purchases. A short wait to see real world reports is never wasted.
